1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
WHO CAN REGISTER? Any child who has not yet entered Kindergarten and whose family has an up-to-date Fairfield library card (Paid memberships included) can sign up for this program.
WHAT DO I DO? Upon registration, you will receive an information package with First 100 Books log, book lists, and more! Simply continue reading to your child and log each title. You can even repeat titles – repetition promotes letter and word recognition. At each hundred-book milestone, bring your child into the library to receive a small incentive.
WHEN ARE WE FINISHED? The program ends when your child has reached 1,000 books! The grand prize is a beautiful personalized book caddy! At 900 books, you will contact Miss Jaime, the Youth Services Librarian, to choose your child’s grand prize design.
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Reading Logs
You can retrieve all logs at the Fairfield Library or download and print the PDF files from below.
*NOTE: Please contact Miss Jaime BEFORE completing 900 – 1,000, as the grand prize must be chosen by the caregiver and ordered by the library in advance.
