Fairfield Free Public Library Landscape Improvement Project
Update 6/13/18: The library front entrance is now open. The front walkway, which is ADA accessible, is also available. The exterior renovation is near completion.
Update 5/29/18: The library is open, but our front entrance is temporarily closed due to construction on our front sidewalks and entrance. Please use the temporary, side entrance, which is accessible from our parking lot. Please pardon our appearance while we make these improvements to better serve the community. Thank you for your patience!
The Fairfield Free Public Library Board of Trustees’ Landscape Improvement Project is scheduled to begin on April 9, 2018 (rescheduled due to weather from 4/2/18) and will continue throughout the spring. The project will be completed by Thomas and Sons (T&S) Builders, LLC.
The landscaping design, prepared by Deborah Cerbone Associates, Inc., will upgrade the library’s hard and soft scape areas, e.g. sidewalks and pathways, in order to address ADA compliance needs, aged and deteriorated landscape and surfaces, as well as associated infrastructure and irrigation issues. The main entry will include new ADA parking and a ramp, newly lighted pathways, a redesigned courtyard entry, an LED sign to display library programming, bike rack and bench seating. The existing back patio will be renovated and expanded into a reading garden capable of hosting library events. The project will also improve the landscaping around the perimeter of the library building.
Please pardon our appearance while we make these improvements to better serve the community.
