Our mission: The Fairfield Free Public Library serves all residents of Fairfield, without charge and without regard to their race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status, handicap, or political status.

The Fairfield Free Public Library provides materials for the use of adults, young adults and children. It is the Library's responsibility to select these materials on the basis of the highest standards of the Library profession.

The purpose of the Fairfield Free Public Library is to aid the individual in the pursuit of education, to provide information on specific subjects, to enrich both individual and community life through the use of library materials, to provide children and adults alike with materials for the creative use of leisure, and to help citizens in fulfilling their responsibilities by providing information and responsible opinion on all sides of public issues.

The Fairfield Free Public Library seeks continually to identify community needs, to provide programs of service to meet such needs, and to cooperate with and support educational, civic and cultural activities of other community organizations.
